How to use the Online Syllabus Database

The Post-Discipline Online Syllabus Database is hosted on the University of Oxford’s Sustainable Digital Scholarship platform. It is fully accessible online by researchers and members of the public. Users may access the Database in two different ways: (1) by downloading the Excel workbook containing the research data from Oxford's Sustainable Digital Scholarship platform, or (2) by navigating the Online Syllabus Database on Oxford's Sustainable Digital Scholarship platform.

Using the Online Syllabus Database on Excel

The Excel workbook is available to download here. Within the workbook, you’ll find formatted tables, with headers which you can use to filter results. The fields appears as follows: University or College, Public/Private, Geographic Location, Endowment, Yearly Tuition, Course Admissions per year, Subject Area, Course Title, Terminal Degree of Instructor, Academic Years Active, Course, Description, Primary Works on Reading List, Additional Information, Course Syllabus (available to view online). Note that, where records do not contain data in any one of the above fields, we have been unable to source this information in our primary and secondary data collection processes.
