Online Syllabus Database

What is the Online Syllabus Database?

The Online Syllabus Database aims to provide researchers and members of the public with information about post-disciplinary uses of literature on professional education programmes and courses in the United States.

It contains a total of 1,049 records, with information about over 400 active and historic courses at 768 institutions in US. Our sample is based on U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 ranked lists of graduate schools for programs in Business, Law, and Medicine.

The Online Syllabus Database brings together data already in the public domain with new, primary data resulting from an online survey.

You can access the database here. The project remains ongoing, but we hope to update the Online Syllabus Database regularly as we identify further courses using literature to teach, train, or model professional skills.
